Jacqui is originally from Stoke-on-Trent, where we grew up and developed an interest in swimming and then triathlons.  She went on to become a fire fighter before deciding to pursue the dream of becoming a professional triathlete.  She's now a world class competitor with many wins under her belt - she currently lives in Australia with her husband (and fellow triathlete), Ben. Snowdrop Project

We’ve donated boulders from Walleys Landfill to be used in a feature on a prominent local roundabout. The council have used them to create an eye-catching Snowdrop Sculpture feature on Northwood Lane roundabout (Clayton), which is now starting to take shape. We think it’s a great idea to put these boulders to good use whilst supporting an imaginative local community project! Butterfly campaign takes flight for The Donna Louise A hospice today launches a special campaign inspired by former service user Charlotte Thom which will culminate in a stunning butterfly themed art installation at the heart of the world-renowned gardens at the Trentham Estate. Taking Flight, an inspiring temporary installation made up of 5,000 ceramic butterflies will take centre stage at Trentham Gardens from late May until early November, and each intricately made butterfly will be available to buy with all funds raised benefitting The Donna Louise Hospice for Children & Young People. Community getting involved for Volunteers Week

Planting up takes place as part of Volunteers Week A big thank you to Edenhurst Preparatory School, Westlands Womens Institute, Borough Mayor Simon White, and Staffordshire Federation Womens Institute, and the Newcastle Borough Council Green Team for their support in freshening up the planters on Borough Road. Purple, green, and white plants were used to fill the refurbished planters - the colour theme of Women's Suffrage.  The project was created in partnership with Staffordshire Federation WI to celebrate their 100th anniversary. Landfill Communities Fund – March Closing Date

Our next closing date for applications is 4th March Is your community group looking for funding for a project that would benefit the local people?  Get in touch and see if we can help! The Red Industries Landfill Communities Fund has awarded over £950,000 to local community groups since the fund was started in July 2017.  We've helped football clubs, scout groups, heritage organisations, churches, community kitchens and more with funding.
