Funding allows the club to make improvements to their gym at Roe Lane Playing Fields

We were delighted to have helped Newcastle Town Youth Football Club with funding to make over their gym facilities. The improvements include new rubber flooring, mirrors, and new equipment thanks to over £18,000 of funding through the Red Industries Landfill Communities Fund.  The club put in an application as their facility was not able to be used to its full potential –  the carpet flooring needed replacing and the well-used equipment was becoming tired and unreliable. With the new equipment now in place, the gym can be opened up and fully utilised for training and fitness.

The club is used by around 400 children per week, plus a wide range of other people in the community.   The club have worked hard to keep the Roe Lane facilities, including 20 acres of pitches, open for the community to use and enjoy, since taking over from the council last year.  They have a fantastic volunteer base, with over 50 coaches, who all work hard to keep the club operating well and enjoyed by all.  As well as regular football training and matches, they also host community events and free training days throughout the year.

The new gym facilities are now a safe and inviting space for people to use.  The club offers training courses, including BTEC Level 3 in Sports Performance, and the facilities will be perfect for the students to train and use.  We’re pleased to have been able to provide the club with a grant for the project through the Red Industries Landfill Communities Fund.
