Empty Container refers to any container, reefer container, controlled atmosphere container, integral reefer container, transportable tank, or flatrack container that meets the ISO standard container type designations and is empty of cargo.
Empty containers containing acutely hazardous chemicals must be triple rinsed before they can be considered empty. The rinse material from these triple-rinsed containers must be collected and disposed of as hazardous waste.
