The final members of the Tower to Tower team have been announced!

The team of 12, including Red’s CEO Adam Share, will be taking on the ‘never before attempted’ journey from the Eiffel Tower, Paris to Tower Bridge, London.  They will be travelling by bike, boat, and boot over four sleepless nights.  The challenge has been designed to raise awareness of the exhaustion the families who use the Donna Louise experience everyday.  At the Donna Louise press event, the final team members were announced including famous faces Tony Pulis, current Middlesborough Manager and former Stoke City Manager, and Rory Delap, former midfielder for Stoke City.

The first leg of the journey is a 270km cycle, over 18 hours, from the Eiffel Tower to the port of Le Havre.  They will then embark on the longest and most challenging part of the route – 190km rowing across one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, the Channel.  The team will take turns rowing 2 hours on, then 2 hours off… for an estimated 40 hours (if the weather is kind).  After an exhausting 3 days with minimal rest, they will then trek from Brighton to London along residential streets, bridle paths, and dual carriageways.  The final leg is estimated to take 24 hours, with the team pushing themselves to the limit as they trek through the night.

The team will experience severe fatigue, aches, pains, mental exhaustion, and low points throughout the journey – by pushing themselves to the limit, they’re highlighting the crippling sleep deprivation that is faced by many families as they care for a child with a life limiting condition.  The team are aiming to raise £100,000 for the Donna Louise, to help provide families with the respite care they desperately need.

The challenge starts on Monday 28th May…
