RED sponsored Adrian Spencer headed back out for the first rally.
Finally the RED Industries, Adgespeed, ABR Fabrications backed Subaru Impreza rally car of Adrian Spencer headed back to the stages at the Abingdon Carnival stages Rally. Held at Abingdon Airfield over 7 stages and 50 miles it was going to be a tough event.
Due to the Coronavirus and the country going into lockdown in March, there had been no rallying until very recently when a few events were able to be held so the demand for places was very high.
With a very strong entry, Adrian and his co-driver Mark Hewitt were seeded at car 24 and with some improvements and repairs since the last rally in March, which ended badly for the team, they were hoping for a good run.
Getting straight back into the groove Adrian and Mark were 13th quickest on the 1st stage, but then the times slipped a bit and after the 4th stage they were 19th O/A. With some tuning of the suspension, fitting of new tyres and a braking issue being fixed, times began to improve with 14th quickest on stage 5, 13th on stage 6 and finally 10th quickest on the final stage resulted in the team finishing 16th overall. A very good result for the team considering the strength of the entry.
The team are now looking forward to the next event in a few weeks.
