RED Industries Sponsored Driver Adrian Spencer Shines Through Challenges
The weekend of July 20th and 21st marked an exhilarating round 6 of the Protyre National Asphalt Rally Championship at the Tour of Epynt. Held over the rugged military ranges in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, the rally presented both treacherous conditions and fierce competition.
Driving the RED Industries/Adgespeed supported Subaru Impreza, Adrian Spencer and his co-driver Ashley Trimble faced a gruelling two-day event featuring four stages on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's stages were marred by heavy rain, making the tracks extremely slippery. Unfortunately, their challenge intensified when the exhaust manifold broke during the second stage, forcing them to miss stages 3 and 4 as they attempted repairs.
Despite this setback, their determination shone through. Thanks to the quick and generous assistance from Melvyn Evans Motorsport, who welded the manifold overnight, Adrian and Ashley were able to restart on Sunday. The weather took a favourable turn, with dry and bright conditions providing a stark contrast to the previous day’s downpour.
Sunday's four stages saw the team completing three-quarters of the stage mileage. Their perseverance paid off as they secured valuable points for the championship, finishing 5th in class B14. Given the challenges they faced, coming away with points was a significant achievement and a testament to their resilience and skill.
