Adrian Spencer and Ashley Trimble have once again delivered an impressive performance in their RED Industries/Adgespeed-supported Subaru Impreza.

Adrian Spencer and Ashley Trimble have once again delivered an impressive performance in their RED Industries/Adgespeed-supported Subaru Impreza, completing the 4th Round of The Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship at the Beatsons Building Supply's Supported Jim Clark Rally. The event, based in the picturesque village of Duns in the Scottish Borders, featured 14 special stages on closed public roads.
Day 1: Wet and Challenging Conditions
The rally kicked off on Friday night with three stages, each repeated twice. The wet conditions were challenging and caught some crews off guard. Out of the six stages, Adrian and Ashley completed only four due to problems faced by other competitors. However, by the end of the night, they had impressively moved up to 57th overall from their 87th seeding.
Day 2: Bright Sunshine and Determined Driving
Saturday brought a complete change in weather, with bright and warm sunshine greeting the crews in the morning and staying throughout the day. This encouraged some committed driving and enthusiastic support from the spectators. Despite losing one stage due to a timing incident, Adrian and Ashley pushed on.
At the final service before the last loop of three stages, an oil leak from a crack in the gearbox casing was discovered. Thankfully, the gearbox held together, allowing the team to finish 42nd overall and 5th in Class 5. This was crucial for securing valuable points in the championship. After four rounds, Adrian is now 3rd in the driver standings for class B14, and Ashley is 2nd in the co-driver standings for the same class.
Looking Ahead
A total of 95 crews finished the event, with 34 retirements. The team is missing the next round due to other commitments but will be back for the 6th round, the Tour of Epynt, on the 20/21st July.
